The Case Team consists of teachers, a Behavior Specialist and an Inclusion Specialist.
The Behavior Specialist assists childcare providers and parents to create a positive learning environment for all children along with assessing children. The Behavior Specialist offers quarterly training for providers on ways to manage challenging behaviors and specific strategies that will assist children in managing their behavior effectively. She provides on-going technical assistance to childcare providers who have children with challenging behaviors.
The Inclusion Specialist assists childcare providers in understanding ways to include children with special needs and ways to make accommodations for children with special needs. The Inclusion Specialist offers training to childcare provider on strategies and techniques for including special needs children within their traditional classroom and the different learning modalities of children.
The CASE teachers provide assessment and screening on children who participate in childcare programs funded through the Early Learning Coalition. Additional services they provide include:
- Training on developmentally appropriate early childhood practices for children birth to 5 years old
- Learning strategies for parents to work with their children to enhance development at home
- Technical assistance to childcare providers on ways to meet individual needs of children in their care and
- Assist parents to identify community resources for their children needing further assessment.
