Prekindergarten Program

The Escambia County's Prekindergarten program is part of the Voluntary Prekindergarten program.

To register parents must acquire a certification of eligibility form the Early Learing Coalition.

Our Goal

To improve the teaching and learning of children in high-poverty schools and continue the focus on parental involvement. In order to accomplish this goal, Title I supports new roles for school districts, states, and the federal government. Schools will decide themselves on how to allocate Title I resources. Districts will play a new critical role through providing consulation, coordination, and highly qualified professional development.

Migrant Education

Program Eligibility

Children up through age 21 who move with parents or guardian that seek seasonal or temporary agricultural or fishing related work qualify for the PAEC Migrant Education Program. Older youth who move on their own to seek seasonal or temporary agricultural or fishing work are also eligible.

Migrant Programs (Part C of PL 107-334 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001)-provide funds to assist migrant children and their families. Funds are used for the following purposes:

* Advocacy and outreach activities for migratory children and their families, including informing such children and families of, or helping such children and families gain access to, other education, health, nutrition and social services
* Support for schools serving migrant students
* Family Literacy programs, including such programs that use models developed under Even Start
* The integration of information technology into educational and related programs
* Programs to facilitate the transition of secondary school students to post secondary education or employment
